The region of Campania is known for its charming, welcoming people and delicious food. John Cabot University is taking you to the cities of Pompeii, Sorrento, Capri and Caserta. 

Pompeii, a Roman city buried and preserved by Mount Vesuvius's volcanic eruption in 79 AD, is one of the most significant proofs of Roman civilization for its display of art, customs, trades and examples of everyday life in ancient times 

Sorrento, is a charming and picturesque town right on the sea. The streets and alleys are adorned with beautiful villas and plenty of shops. The colorful churches and quaint piazzas that surround the city give it an "old world" feel. You can see a monastery built by Saint Francis of Assisi and also go exploring in the harbor. 

Capri is an island in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the Sorrentine Peninsula, on the south side of the Gulf of Naples. It has been a resort destination since the time of the Roman Republic. The island features the Marina Piccola (the little harbour), the Belvedere of Tragara, which is a high panoramic promenade lined with villas, limestone crags called sea stacks that project above the sea (the Faraglioni), Anacapri, the Blue Cave (Grotta Azzurra), and the ruins of the Imperial Roman villas. 

Enjoy the charming town of Positano, part of the UNESCO World Heritage site of the Amalfi Coast. The village is known for its colorful houses seemingly carved into the side of the cliff as well as the beautiful beaches. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sun before heading back to Rome.
