Water Sports Weekend Trip @ Fregene

You may book and pay for your trip inside the Athletics Office, located in Vicolo della Penitenza n°26, starting on the first week of classes.
Fregene: The modern town was created in 1928 as part of a large drainage project along the coasts of Lazio, to create a sea resort. Its history goes back to the Etrurian and Roman ages. During those years it had water logging problems that made this village disappear in the 5th century BC.
This village had dark years since the 1950s, when the Roman Aristocracy discovered it, and from the 50's to the 60's Cinema industry gave great prestige to this city. A lot of actors and directors moved here during those days. Federico Fellini with Lo sceicco bianco, La dolce vita e Giuliettadegli spiriti exports everywhere evocative images of the pine forest that Pope Clement IX had planted in 1666 with the aim to absorb the water that was stationed on the surface.
We will sleep in a tent on the beach of Fregene in front of the sea, and we will be awakened by the smell of coffee, freshly baked buns with butter and preserve or bacon , egg, and cheese. Everything will be prepared over a campfire. We will then prepare ourselves for a day of water activities! Then we will have a fantastic aperitivo and a magnificent BBQ under the stars on the beach…
