La Traviata is one of  Giuseppe Verdi’s most famous operas and students have the opportunity to watch it at Rome’s historical opera house from first row box seats. This version of the celebrated opera is directed by Sofia Coppola and boasts costumes by Valentino.

The story of La Traviata revolves around the courtesan, Violetta, who at the beginning of the performance celebrates her recovery from tuberculosis with a grand party where she meets Alfredo who has admired her for some time. After much persuasion, he finally convinces her to live in the country with him. Alfredo’s father then pressures Violetta to leave his son and return home to Paris. Here, her tuberculosis returns in a tragic conclusion.
