Time: 8:45pm-11:30pm
Price: €15
Deadline to sign-up and pay is by 5:00pm on Tuesday, October 9th

The Merchant of Venice is considered one of William Shakespeare’s comedies, although it shares characteristics with many of his more dramatic works. We will meet our protagonist, Bassanio as he tries to win the hand of the fair Portia of Belmont. Unfortunately, it is not as easy as he anticipates and he gets himself in trouble by defaulting on his loan. Luckily, his bride is intelligent, tricky, and a master of disguise!

The Silvano Toti Globe Theatre was constructed in 2003 as an Italian replica of the Elizabethan Globe Theatre, where Shakespeare’s plays were originally performed. This production is the only show of the season to be performed in the original English rather than Italian. We are pleased to celebrate 15 years of the Globe Theatre in Rome with this production!
