Italian coffee can come in many shapes and forms but thankfully, Rome is full of coffee shops and multiple coffees a day is natural for most Italians, so you have plenty of opportunities to try them all! This coffee tour of Rome will take us to three unique cafés, each of which has a long history of providing coffee to the Roman people.
Our first stop on our tour through Rome is Sant’Eustachio. This café has been serving excellent coffee to Romans since 1938. We will have the opportunity to see where they roast the beans while we learn about what makes their coffee unique. We will taste their specialty, The Gran Caffè, along with some small chocolates.
Just a few steps from the Pantheon, we will taste our second coffee at the famous, Tazza d’Ora, founded in 1944. We will enjoy either an espresso or a cappuccino, a small pastry, and sample their chocolate covered coffee beans.
Our final stop, Sciascia Caffè 1919, will take us to the neighborhood of Prati, near the Vatican. We will sample their espresso and taste one of their homemade pastries while we learn about the long history of the café. It is a favorite among locals and relatively unknown among tourists.
