Join us at the Teatro dell’Opera to enjoy one of the most famous operas in the world!  The Barber of Seville an opera by Gioachino Rossini, contains some of the most recognizable pieces of opera music, including “Largo al factotum” sung by the baritone, Figaro. You will be able to follow along using the Italian or English text above the stage.

The opera has been an important element of Italian cultural since the very first, Dafne, was performed in Florence in 1598. Rome’s Opera House was built in only 18 months and originally sat 2,200 people, although, after renovations now seats only 1,600. This historical theater’s debut performance on November 27, 1880 was another of Rossini’s operas, Semiramide, and was attended by King Humbert I of Savoy and Princess Margherita of Savoy.
