A true village within Rome, Testaccio is one of the city’s least touristy neighborhoods, home to one of Italy’s most beautiful cemeteries and the quirky former slaughterhouse. We navigate its historical development from ancient port, to industrial hub, and into its current role as a popular area for food and night-life, discussing how these transformations have affected the lives of the neighborhood’s residents.
