The Regina Viarum was one of the main thoroughfare that connected the Southern Italy to Rome. It's main purpose was to improve the military and commercial influences of Rome. The road remained an important route during the middle age, attracting pilgrims coming from all over the world to see to the various catacombs scattered along the way.
