The medieval town of Viterbo is just north of Rome in the Lazio region. It is known for temporarily housing the papal seat in the thirteenth century, but the origins of the city are Etruscan. Its well preserved architecture, including the churches, city walls and gates, fountains, and neighborhoods are a charming example of medieval life.

The thermal baths, or Terme dei Papi, date back to the Etruscan era of the city and were also used by medieval Popes, now they are enjoyed by everyone for their therapeutic benefits. Don’t forget to bring your swimsuit, swim cap, sun screen, and towel to take advantage of the therapeutic benefits yourself!
