COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course is designed to expand student’s knowledge in the area of supply chain management by applying analytical methodologies and information technology. Supply chains are concerned with the efficient integration of suppliers, factories, warehouses, and stores so that products are supplied to customers in the right quantity and at the right time, while satisfying customer service level requirements at minimum cost. While many firms focus on supply chain management (SCM) as a source of competitive advantage, deficiencies in the SC may result in a downgrade of competitiveness.
SUMMARY OF COURSE CONTENT:

This course aims to provide students with a robust foundation in the concepts, principles, and tools essential for effective Supply Chain Management. The curriculum is organized into seven key areas:

  1. Supply Chain Strategy
  2. Demand Management
  3. Supply Chain Planning
  4. Designing Supply Chain Networks
  5. Coordination within the Supply Chain
  6. Supply Chain Risk Management
  7. Supply Chain Sustainability
LEARNING OUTCOMES:

The course is structured to provide practical tools and theoretical insights, enabling students to address real-world supply chain challenges and contribute to building resilient, efficient, and sustainable supply chains.Develop a clear understanding of the critical role supply chain management plays in enhancing efficiency, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction.

  1. Equip students with methodologies to design and analyze supply chains effectively.
  2. Introduce mathematical techniques to support optimal decision-making related to transportation, partnerships, and inventory across the supply chain.
  3. Enhance students' awareness of how information technology impacts supply chains and familiarize them with the latest trends in risk management and sustainability.
