Mandatory requirements:

• Students must be 18 years old or older to participate in the activity.

• An Athletics physical conducted by an Italian sport doctor is mandatory

• Hiking boots are mandatory (the entry fee includes free boot rental)

Our accommodation will be a typical dairy farm in Abruzzo, where we will have the pleasure of being guests of the Novelli family. They will provide us with hands-on experiences such as milking cows, making cheese, baking bread, and foraging for wild herbs, chestnuts, and mushrooms. 

 

During our stay, we will savor the finest local cuisine. Every meal, from the bread to the meat, proudly comes from the Novelli family farm. 

 

The Enchanted Forest of Patrignone, along with the surrounding forests, forms a distinctive ecosystem. This enchanted forest is a crucial component of the Abruzzo ecosystem, playing a vital role in maintaining environmental balance. It provides a habitat for rare and protected species, as well as a source of mushrooms, wild herbs, chestnuts, and opportunities for ecotourism. Moreover, it offers spiritual pleasure, preserves the history of the people, and contributes to the local culture. 

    

WEEKEND TRIP SCHEDULE

First Day:

7:00 AM: meeting at Trastevere station;
9:30 AM: arriving at colle Verrico;
9:45 am Welcome breakfast and hike to Foresta di Partrignone
1:30 PM: Lunch at the agritourist Farm and free time
3:00 PM: Farm activities
7:35 PM: Dinner at Agritourist Farm

 

Second Day:

8:00 AM: Breakfast
9:00 AM: Bus to Sacro Cuore
9:45 AM: Start hiking to Sacro Cuore and Cascata delle Barche (Packed snack/lunch), bath at the waterfalls.
4:30 PM: Farewell at Agritourist Farm
5:00 PM: bus to Rome

LEVEL OF THE HIKE: moderately strenuous hike will generally be challenging for an unconditioned person. The terrain will involve a steady and often steep incline.
