“I embraced a cloud, but when I soared it rained.” - F. Ohara. Meditations in an Emergency

In this session we will gather at the Museum of Modern Art which is situated in the beautiful park of Villa Borghese. This one-day session proposes a cross-disciplinary approach to writing about and with art. Participants will be given different prompts as they explore the museum, experimenting with poetry, fiction, and collaborative forms. The first half of the session will be spent in the museum, doing different writing experiments in real time as we stand before the works of art. The second half will take us to the park, where will continue revisions and share some of our work from the day. Readings from Carla Lonzi, Wayne Koestenbaum, Frank O’Hara, and Moyra Davey will be provided before the session to better prepare participants for the activities as well as a Meditation/Exercise to connect with the works of art and to develop a mindful perception between emotions and sensibility.

Tickets to the museum are included.

N.B. All sanitary precautions and social distancing rules will be strictly respected
