This tour will give you insight into JCU’s neighborhood. Villa Farnesina is located across the street from the Guarini Campus and dates back to the early 16th century during the Italian Renaissance. The Villa boasts frescos from some of the most famous painters of the period, including Raffaello Sanzio who was commissioned by Agostino Chigi to paint the chapel and the Loggia of Cupid and Psyche.

 

Villa Farnesina also houses the Accademia dei Lincei, the oldest scientific society in the world, of which Galileo Galilei was a member.

 

During the tour , you will visit :

-Loggia of Cupid and Psyche

-Room of the Frieze

-Hall of Perspectives

-Alexander and Roxane’s Room

-Gallery of the Grotesques
